Opening hours: Tuesday 9 a.m-2 p.m., Wednesday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday 1-5 p.m.

František Vítek, a carver, sculptor, plastic artist, scenographer, puppeteer, etc. celebrates an important jubilee this year. With his wife Věra he has built an artist duo and their progressive scenographic, acting, dramaturgic and directorial achievements are considered as unique and essential in the context of the development of Czech puppet theatre.

The Moravian Museum presented their outstanding puppetry work in autumn 2016 in the successful large exhibition František Vítek and Věra Říčařová - variations of one life. The current exhibition is dedicated to František Vítek´s 90th birthday. It stages, actually for the first time, especially the author´s less known free work according to his own selection. There are wood sculptures, from miniature to large works. These artefacts are complemented with various drawings, scenographic designs and photographs from cultic stagings. On display are of course several puppets of crucial importance. Unfortunately, the number of exhibits is limited by the intimate exhibition space, nevertheless we hope that this representative "sample" will enable the visitors to get at least a short insight into the depths of the artistic soul of the wood enchanter František Vítek.
