Colourful world of quartz materials around us

The exhibition shows the most famous and the most frequent precious stone appearing around us, the quartz, in the variety of its forms in the nature. 

Only few minerals appear so often and present such a quantity of various colours and forms.  One finds it commonly e.g. in the shape of milk-white pebbles in river gravel and on the seaside, on the other hand rare varieties  such as pure crystal, violet amethyst, rose-quartz and smoky quartz can seldom be found. Quartz substance builds various sorts of quartz, chalcedony as well as opal, the most famous are agate and jasper. A selection of the most interesting varieties of quartz and quartz minerals can be seen in the anteroom of the permanent exhibition World of Minerals.
