Leoš Janáček Memorial > Temporary exhibitions > Tomáš Hlavenka

Tomáš Hlavenka

10. 2. - 19. 3. 2017

Opening hours: Tuesday 9 a.m-3 p.m., Wednesday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 1-6 p.m.

The exhibition of works by a distinctive plastic artist of the middle generation brings a retrospective of his work the main part of which is inspired by nature both on the ideal and material level. Hlavenka decomposes natural environment in order to compose a new nature of his own. He has created Death-mushrooms and animals out of found bones, prehistoric mushrooms out of stones, etc. Sometimes he replaces natural objects with artificial ones, e.g. in the case of metal casts of trees planted in an alley. The exhibition title is borrowed from Janáček´s opera The Cunning little vixen and characterizes well the author´s creation.
