Pavel Dvorský is one of the leading painters who, following up with works of Zdeněk Burian, deal with scientific illustration and reconstructions of prehistoric life. His works depict particularly the period of the Middle and Upper Palaeolithic. They often show the Neanderthals, Cro-Magnons and animals living in that period. Pavel Dvorský has collaborated with many eminent Czech archaeologists and enhanced numerous scientific publications and popular science books with his illustrations.
